intercultural project within multicultural Europe

Young
Women From Minorities (WFM) is a European
non-governmental organization created out a pilot project
set up during the Council of Europe's young campaign
"all different - all equal" whose major aim is
to bring together and promote the work undertaken by and
for minority young women's projects in Europe
|
Our Aims and
Objectives
|
 |
To provide
information and training at European level to its
members and foster the cooperation between them. |
 |
To promote social
integration, help overcome discrimination and
exclusion. |
 |
To present Young
Women From Minorities in the relevant European
institutions or platforms and to establish links
and networks. |
 |
To carry out
European activities in the field of education,
training and research contributing for a better
participation of young minority women. |
 |
To promote and
support the creation and development of projects
initiated for and by minority young women. |

Activities
|
As a
European organizations, WFM's role is to organize
training and education activities which, at the European
level, can serve as examples and support to the national
an local projects. These include:

Leadership
training courses; |
 |
Seminars on
specific issues of relevance to the European
dimensions of youth work with women; |
 |
Provision of
information about and access to the European
institutions of relevance for young women's
projects; |
 |
Supporting
network possibilities and contacts to local
partners and encouraging to the development of
youth work projects with young women; |
WFM publishes a regular newsletter, UMa. as
a mean of supplying its members and interested
organizations information about its activities and
European opportunities for young women.

Membership and Structure
|
Membership
to WFM is voluntary and open to associations or
individuals who:

Share the
concerns of and are active in working with
minority women. |
 |
Pursue their
activities in the spirit of the international
conventions and declarations on Human Rights,
Minority Rights and Women's Rights. |
 |
Wish to cooperate
for the aims of a peaceful European integration
respecting the diversity and the rights of
minorities and for the promotion of the women
role in society |
WFM is registered European youth
organization based in Sweden
